The Last Picture Show
The movie that launched Bogdanovich’s long career (and Cybill Shepherd’s) is based on an autobiographical novel by Larry McMurtry about teenagers in a small Texas town in the early ’50s. As seen by Bogdanovich, The Last Picture Show is an elegy to golden-era Hollywood and the way it once dreamed of America. Based on the novel by Larry McMurtry.
